This is my story of my life living with lupus, a chronic illness. I do know more about your journey than you thought possible. My heart is full right now . Being a Lupus Warrior of 22 years, this was the book for me ..... no bullshit, all the gory truth that comes with this glamorous illness ! I'm so happy to have been exposed to Wanda , I'm going to search for her other stories as soon as possible! She captures the reality of what it's truly like to go through living with the " Day in a life of Lupus " . Very funny, imaginative and heartwarming. The quotes are brilliant and the chapter with all the patient quotes rings way to close for me . ( I cried at almost all of them ) . Wanda Argersinger gives us a clear picture of life with Lupus. She talks about her pain, endless doctor visits, and piles of pills, but she shows us that with determination and a sense of humor, a person can do more than survive. She thrives and helps others as they struggle. I have seen Wanda move forward with Lupus pain and extraneous injuries with more good cheer than anyone around her. "Surrender" is not in her dictionary.
Anyone with a life altering medical condition can profit from this book. She describes her experiences with humor and verve - and in a way we can learn from. This is a book that everyone should read - both those being altered by nasty illnesses, and those who are their friends and loved ones, or just curious.
